This coffee is also Bird Friendly Certified, a unique ethical initiative taken by Balzac’s. Famous Canadian author and bird lover Margaret Atwood partners with Balzac’s to create a Smithsonian Institute certified Bird Friendly blend. This certification raises funds and awareness for the Pelee Island Bird Observatory (PIBO) in the western end of Lake Erie. PIBO is a not for profit organization which studies and conserves migratory birds. Their goal is to collect and disperse information which will help us understand the migratory changes taking place. For each pound of Atwood Blend sold, $1 will be donated to PIBO.
