Wash in warm soapy water immediately after each use and dry thoroughly. Do not use as a cutting board–Slate will dull your knife, and has the potential to split and crack with applied pressure.
Slate is a natural stone, so some acids and alkaline cleaners may etch its surface. Your slate arrives to you pre-sealed with a food safe stone sealer.
